Here is the official statement of the band:
"It is with tremendous regret that we must cancel select summer shows and festivals due to an unforeseen medical diagnosis. We were very much looking forward to seeing everyone on the road this summer and we are continuing to play as many shows as possible surrounding medical treatments. Thank you for all of your support and understanding" -JJ
Bandleader JJ Julius Son, drummer David Antonsson and bassist Daniel Kristjansson have been best friends since elementary school and started playing in their current composition in 2012. Their isolated Icelandic heritage inspired their sound as well as their move from the small country to the USA making it a perfect mixture of gorgeous rock, folk and blues sounds. Their album makes it obvious that they are not restrained to just one genre, but they have a range of sounds to pick from resulting in their unique sound. The band chose their name from the Hawaiian word “Kaleo” which translates to “the sound”. This makes it obvious that they are open to diversity and do not restrict themselves to sounding the same on their songs.
After signing with Elektra/Atlantic, the Icelandic band Kaleo moved to the States in 2015 and abandoned their home country. Now they are coming to Europe to play a show at Rockhal in Luxembourg where they will perform on 28th June 2017. Songs will be played from their debut album A/B.
