Layzee Dubstep: 22:30
NETSKY LIVE: 23:55
Rarely have we seen someone rise through the ranks as quickly as 23-year-old Boris Daenen, a.k.a Netsky. Having revolutionised the drum & bass scene with his unique brand of uplifting, euphoric dancefloor bass music the young Belgian has already earned several nominations and awards. Finally, one of the genre's most exciting young artists can be experienced live at the Rockhal on 16 November 2012.
Having a Belgian passport doesn’t often turn drum 'n' bass heads, so you can be sure it’s his tunes that do the talking! Leading a wave of new school drum 'n' bass talents from Europe with his blend of uplifting, melancholic melodies and heavy dancefloor beats, Netsky’s popularity as both a DJ and producer is second to none. His first release was the iconic “Memory Lane” and his chart topping debut album “Netsky” swiftly followed this up. Gaining virtually unanimous praise and hype from all corners of the globe, it plunged Netsky firmly into the limelight, where he has remained ever since, delivering a potent mix of dancefloor anthems, vocal led classics and that clean cut new jungle sound which has become his trademark.
Since then, Netsky’s profile as a remixer has been affirmed by his huge remixes of ubiquitous club anthems such as Pendulum “Witchcraft”, Plan B, Swedish House Mafia “One” and most recently Jessie J “Nobody’s Perfect” as well as Rusko “Everyday”. Following the release of January’s digital-only single “Give & Take” and “Come Alive” in May, we are now awaiting the release of Netsky’s highly anticipated sophomore album, which is due out at the end of June.
Alongside all this, is Netsky’s hectic DJ schedule which regularly takes him across Europe, the UK, US, Australia and across the world. His skills behind the decks are enviable as he is able to transform even the most subdued of parties into an ecstatic, bouncing rave within a matter of minutes.
With a huge fan base and celebrity status in his home country, Netsky’s star just keeps on rising. On 16 November 2012 he will hit the Rockhal audience with his dancefloor bass and beats. One thing is for sure, 2012 is already set to be another golden year for Belgium’s premium drum 'n' bass export.
