At the end of 2011, Deathstars experienced their biggest and most important journey to date, the quintet was chosen by legendary industrial metallers Rammstein to support them on tour. Their performance at the Rockhal on 2 December was remarkable and on 18 March 2012 the deathglam pioneers will be back at the Rockhal for a devastating full-length show.
It is a ravishing rock group of many faces, with members who are as weird as they are charismatic. Death Metal, Electro, Goth, Industrial and Rock, these are the main ingredients thrown into the mad mix which is Deathstars. With an image that looks like a cloned version of Marilyn Manson or a twisted version of Kiss, and music that throws Rammstein and Dimmu Borgir into a giant food processor, Deathstars have made a name for themselves as one of Europe's most provoking bands.
Deathstars and its five members are the founders of death glam-metal, a title not just any band can carry. Live reviewers have done nothing but rave about the band. Front man Whiplasher is well known for his on stage wickedness and direct contact with audience members, often apologizing to the boyfriends in the crowd for arousing their screaming girlfriends so much.
Their latest record "Night Electric Night" is about their lives and their experiences, their personal issues and the horrordrama, which represents the manic environment that the band exists within. The style they originated with their first two albums "Synthetic Generation" and "Termination Bliss" sounds more huge and alive than ever.
Deathstars walk the fine line of sophisticated darkness with the always clear and present vibe of sex, guts and horrorish vogue. It is hellish hot stuff, but also entertaining, and somewhat frightening. Sweden's death-glammers, Deathstars will set the Rockhal on fire on 18 March 2012 with their wild, provocative and dark live show. This band certainly is about to embark on a new quest, which should catapult them even further into worldwide recognition.
