Sportfreunde Stiller don’t have to be loud to be authentic! Their tour might be called “the last quiet travel“, but it’s neither the last one, nor is it quiet. Sportfreunde Stiller’s new concert series is scheduled for November and December and it is based on the content of the number 1 and platinum album “MTV Unplugged in New York”. For all those who have been to New York (or not), Sportfreunde Stiller created Big Apple versions of their greatest hits, adapted with winds, strings, choir and guest musicians. On 22nd November, the Rockhal in Luxembourg will be the venue for the rock champions of hearts.

Sportfreunde Stiller represent a decade of friendship between a band and its audience. This friendship grew slowly in the beginning and was sometimes put to the proof, but maybe that’s the reason why it developed and became such a profound, steadfast relationship. You just can’t separate good friends… neither on the pitch, nor on stage. Football is their life and rock’n’roll is their elixir. Hans Stiller, coach of SV Germering, the club which Peter Brugger (vocals, guitar) and Florian Weber (drums, vocals) played in for many years, was the name giver when they formed the band “Stiller” in 1996. They had to change it into Sportfreunde Stiller because there was already a band of that name, and in the year 2000 they released their first album together with their new teammate, Rüdiger Linhof (bass, keyboard): “So wie einst Real Madrid”.

Every two years, another album followed: “Die gute Seite”, “Burli” and “You have to win Zweikampf”, which made it to number 2 of the LP charts in 2007, even before the hit singles “La Bum” was released. The release of the singles and football world cup hit “'54, '74, '90, 2006” marked the beginning of their ascent of the summit. Meanwhile, many golden and platinum records stand in their trophy showcase for more than two million records sold, as well as two Echo awards. On 22nd November, Sportfreunde Stiller are coming to the Rockhal – doors open at 7:00 pm, kick-off at 8:30 pm!
