DEAR READER

A young artist from Johannesburg, South Africa, will introduce you to her intimate universe with the enchanting music of her new album "Idealistic animals". You are welcome to discover Dear Reader during their Showcase concert on 19 January 2012 at the Rochkalcafe.

The South African artist, Cherilyn MacNeil (singer, compositor and songwriter) will come to Luxembourg with a new album full of charm. With a voice comparable to Kate Bush, she will surprise you and bring you closer to her world of pop and folk pleasure.

In a happy but fanatic melancholy, Cherilyn will expose her view of life, her conclusion about our lack of control of life and our separation with the rest of the animal's reign. She will sing you her research about animals and humans; show you our differences and similarities to conclude that her idealistic animals are the humans. Like all these songs end well and are always accompanied by a soft music that will give the effect that we ask for more.

Compared to new groups like Vampire Weekend, who dip their inspiration from African music, Dear Reader dip in British pop. Cherilyn Macneil, who told that she rarely listens to the music, made this album a greater success. After a tour in Germany with Nada Surf and Calexico, Dear Reader was perfected on stage and now they want to demonstrate their skills.
