If you’ve placed a finger on the pulse of electronic music at any point over the last five years, it’s safe to say you’ll have encountered Apparat in one form or another. Sascha Ring, the Berlin artist, will soon release his fourth Apparat album, “The Devil’s Walk”. Having performed in front of thousands at clubs and festivals around the world, the Rockhal is looking forward for Sascha Ring’s show on 30 October 2011 as Apparat Band.  

To some, Sascha will be better known as a member of Moderat, the electro supergroup consisting of him and his mates from Modeselektor. But Apparat is, without a doubt, one of the brightest stars on the sky of electronic music today. His early music style could be best described as a mixture of dance, techno and electro, a sound clearly made for the dancefloor. In 2007 Apparat called to life a new 3-piece project called Apparat Band Live. The goal was to play out live the "Wall" album. Apart from Sascha, responsible for the laptop, controls and guitar, Apparat Band Live consists of piano player Raz O'Hara and drummer Jörg Waehner.  

After many months in the studio, Apparat emerges now with a new album “The Devil’s Walk” being released in September. The album shifts its focus from the more dancefloor oriented projects of the past, to create a new soundscape of electronica with percussion, cello, piano, and of course, Apparat’s unique voice. Further they are now part of Mute label’s shining portfolio of talents including artists like Depeche Mode and Moby.  

Apparat is making more vivid sounds than ever, putting an intriguing amount of focus on vocals and live instruments. And speaking of live instruments, this year the Rockhal is giving you the chance to experience the work of Apparat with the accompaniment of his band on 30 October 2011.

TECH TALK WITH APPARAT (AKA SASCHA RING):

This exclusive tech talk will show how musician, composer and producer Apparat (aka Sach Ring) is working in the studio and live. He will describe  his set-up and gear for producing and playing live, share some tips and tricks for producing and mixing a track and talk about his projects and collaborations with Djs and producers like Ellen Allien and Modeselektor (Moderat).
He will also talk about his new project Apparat Band with which he will perform the same night at the Rockhal.

Finally a Q&A will give participants the possibility to ask questions and to further investigate some of the discussed topics.
