To the delight of New Model Army’s regiment of gothic, punk and other fans, the “world’s greatest underground band” is back. Formed in 1980 by Justin Sullivan in Bradford, New Model Army got their first inspiration from punk rock, northern soul and the incendiary atmosphere which prevailed in England during the early eighties. They’ve gone their own long way, always creative and close to the pulse of urban rock. On 23rd November, they celebrate their 30th band birthday, and NEW MODEL ARMY are back in Luxembourg, at the Rockhal’s Club…


Indestructible! For almost 30 years now, New Model Army’s career has been a series of battles, they’ve played concerts around the world, and they’re still not gone. There’s only one founding member left: Justin Sullivan, who is the only constant in this band…

Justin Sullivan formed NEW MODEL ARMY in 1979. 1979 was also the year when the “Iron Lady”, Margaret Thatcher, came to power. With the changing policy, more and more people lost their jobs or slid into poverty, but people like Justin picked up the gauntlet. He turned his band into a megaphone helping him to manifest his claims and hopes…

New Model Army took their inspiration from punk rock, but also from other musical genres. Another thing that changed quite often was the line-up, but this didn’t keep their fan community from growing, turning NMA into a very special band… New Model Army means a lifestyle, a way to think, live performances that are close to chaos, battalions of fans throughout Europe, to put it short: NEW MODEL ARMY are Britain’s number 1 cult band.

For their new mission, the NEW MODEL ARMY goes to war once again, after 30 years of career, and they’re ready to assault the Rockhal on 23rd November…
