Every five years, Pink Martini come back for a European tour and stop by in Luxembourg. On July 14, 2010, they will present their latest album, “Splendor in the grass”. They still don’t think a great deal of “travailler” or “déjeuner”, and then, they smoke… And that’s the way we like them.

Pink Martini can certainly not be reduced to this 1997 hit because this band from Portland, Oregon has released four remarkable albums so far. And they all have a confusing lot of facets.

When pianist Thomas Lauderdale and singer China Forbes formed Pink Martini in 1994, the band seemed like a ufo that nobody had counted on. The result was a first album entitled “Sympathique”, which sold more than 650.000 copies worldwide and went platinum in France.

Ever since “Sympathique” and the success of the singles of the same title, Pink Martini have acquired a very good reputation for their live performance. Their universal music mixes percussion sounds with wind instruments, strings and vocals. Their songs enlace different cultures in one exotic, sensual piece of art. Pink Martini are a true breath of fresh air in a stereotypical world of music, which has become sclerotic through commercialization.

On July 14, 2010, they will unleash their fireworks into the heat of the Club. Musical fireworks you will remember for a long time!
