One of the most popular young bands is stopping over on 26 February 2012 for a concert that will most certainly set the Rockhal on fire: The Subways! With their rock atmosphere and energy-laden riffs, The Subways will do all they can to keep you from forgetting them.
This powerful garage and indie rock band comes straight from London and was formed by two brothers, Billy Lunn (vocals and guitar) and Josh Morgan (drums and percussion), as well as Billy's ex-fiancee, Charlotte Cooper (bass, vocals and keys). Drawing their influence from bands such as Nirvana, Oasis or the Smashing Pumpkins, to name but a few, The Subways prove that they have the guts to increase their music's energy load while other bands soften with time. That's not what The Subways are looking for, and they're going to show you.
The Subways have gathered experience playing with bands such as Oasis, Stereophonics and the Foo Fighters. They've been on tour with The Strokes, Eagles of Death Metal, Angels and Airwaves, bands which are not really known for their calm and harmonious concerts. What do you expect from a good mix concentrated in such a young band... it's got to be explosive!
For their third album, "Money And Celebrity", The Subways have returned to their roots with producer Stephen Street (Blur, Babyshambles, Kaiser Chiefs...). In addition to this move, the band had the demented idea to have their fans participate in the album's financing after already allowing them to take part in the rehearsals and provide background vocals. This album is a compromise between their first record's melodic efficiency and the second one's rock power.
In summary: take some rock music and a barn-storming live band, mix it up and you'll get a Subways concert not to miss on 26 February 2012, at the Rockhal Club.
