Review
On 15 May 2011, the quartet EZ3kiel, a veritable kaleidoscope in the world of French electronic music, will play at the Rockhal Club for the very first time.
It’s hardly believable how many things EZ3kiel have done since 1998! By the means of four albums, this band has created a completely unique baroque and futuristic style which blends numerous genres: hip hop, classical music, dub and electro. Over the years, many cooperation projects were accomplished with artists such as DAAU, Angélique Willkie (ex Zap Mama), Angelo Moore of Fishbone, Yann Tiersen, and many more. In the meantime, the band has become one of the biggest names in the French music business!
The band’s real trade mark is its live performance. EZ3kiel’s concerts are an unbelievable sound and light spectacle. EZ3kiel’s musical innovation is supported by Yann Nguema’s visual shows. Just as the band, he uses different media to create his visual effects, such as paintings of the Renaissance, fabrics, etc., and processes them with digital techniques.
During their concerts, Yann Nguema, Matthieu Fays, Johann Guill and Stéphane Babiaud (2007) don’t hesitate to play with the video projections, considering them as just as important as the music they compose. This human sensitivity leaves room for a veritable alchemy between EZ3kiel and their audience.
After 7 albums and numerous tours across Europe, (including the VERSUS TOUR, a musical project with strings, woodwind section and electronic instruments) EZ3kiel have become the cult quartet of the French electro scene. Today, the band is eager to promote its music abroad and has created a new show which is designed especially for the export.
EZ3kiel, a spectacle not to miss, on 15 May 2011 at the Rockhal Club!
