Great news for jazz fans: one of the biggest icons will pay us the compliment of appearing at the Rockhal Box on 5 December 2010: Herbie Hancock. Get ready for a memorable artistic night, an evening which could turn you into a jazz fan if you aren’t already!

For all of those who don’t know Herbie Hancock, now is the time to change this situation. Nevertheless, we don’t have the time to tell his entire story because it would take too long. There is simply too much to tell, from his time at the Miles Davis Quintet, which is still the most important jazz reference for many fans, to his numerous important albums. That is why we are going to talk about his new project. “The Imagine Project” is so much more than just a simple album, and he’s going to present it on stage at the Rockhal Box in December.

He’s a virtuoso and famous for having had a lasting effect on his art form by blending funk, rock and soul influences into jazz music. With this new album, he decided to continue his quest towards a musical revolution, a quest which he never gave up during his career.

“The Imagine Project” is an unprecedented international recording and also a film project featuring music legends from all parts of the world. This “VIP list” comprises musicians such as Dave Matthews, Anoushka Shankar, Jeff Beck, The Chieftains, John Legend, India Arie, Seal, Pink, Juanes, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Chaka Khan, K'Naan, Wayne Shorter, James Morrison and Lisa Hannigan

Besides allowing Herbie Hancock to express himself, this project explores subjects which are important to him, such as peace and inter-personal respect. The album and the film are equivalent cases for global peace, humanity, tolerance, and a sign of respect towards our planet.

As this year goes to its end, make yourself an early Christmas gift: a concert you won’t forget.
