ATTENTION! JOURNEY & FOREIGNER SHOW HAS A NEW DATE!

Due to scheduling conflicts of their actual tour Journey & Foreigner need to move the date of their show to 05 July 2011.

So please join us one day earlier for a night with a fantastic double bill! All tickets bought will stay valid for this new date.

Doors will open at 19.00 hrs, the show starts at 19h30 and will be opened by the CHRIS BIRCH BAND.

The Rockhal is proud to announce a very exceptional show: Two of the biggest names in Classic Rock, JOURNEY and FOREIGNER will hit the stage for a fantastic double bill!

It will be a MUST for all fans of Classic Rock, but not only for them: Two icons of rock music who started back in the 1970’s will perform at the Rockhal for a joint-headline show: multi-million selling rock band JOURNEY together with FOREIGNER, definitely one of the most popular rock bands on this planet.

The famous American rock band JOURNEY is making some of the best-known songs in modern music. They have continued to tour and record into the 21st century, and have never stopped creating vital music. Since the group’s formation in 1973, the band has earned 19 Top 40 singles and 25 Gold and Platinum albums.

In May 2011 JOURNEY will unleash their latest album with brand new material: “Eclipse”. It is featuring the line-up of Neal Schon (guitars, backing vocals), Jonathan Cain (keyboards, backing vocals), Ross Valory (bass, backing vocals), Deen Castronovo (drums, percussion, backing vocals) and Arnel Pineda (lead vocals). MelodicRock.com praised the album, stating: “Eclipse is dark and heavy, yet melodic. Adventurous, yet familiar. Moody, yet uplifting. Simply bloody amazing… “.

During their Rockhal concert fans can expect to hear new songs from “Eclipse” as well as classics such as “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Any Way You Want It,” “Faithfully,” “Lights,” “Separate Ways,” “Wheel In The Sky” and many more. 2011 also marks the 30th anniversary of JOURNEY’s classic anthem “Don’t Stop Believin”. The song reached another level of stratospheric success in 2009, when it was covered by the cast of the wildly successful series “Glee” and became the best-selling song from the show. Three decades after the track's release it has reached a new class of young fans to become a huge anthem for a whole new generation. Therefor multiple generations are welcoming this legendary band in 2011, as JOURNEY continues to bring their signature sound of classic hits and new favorites across Luxembourg and around the world. The band is firing on all cylinders and making sure their fans will never stop believin’.

FOREIGNERS’s music resonates globally across generations, thanks to an impressive run of 14 Top 20 hits, including worldwide number one hit “I Want To Know What Love Is”, rock and roll favourites ‘Cold As Ice’, ‘Waiting For A Girl Like You’, ‘Urgent’, ‘Double Vision’, ‘Feels Like The First Time’, ‘Dirty White Boy’, ‘Head Games’, ‘Say You Will’ and video game staples such as ‘Hot Blooded’ and ‘Juke Box Hero’, creating album sales in excess of 70 million.

FOREIGNERS’s 2010 United In Rock tour of the USA captivated audiences and established the group in its rightful place as one of the country’s top touring attractions. Their latest multi-disc release, ‘Can’t Slow Down’, broke many Classic Rock sales records and spawned two Top 20 singles on US radio. ‘Can’t Slow Down’ was the band’s first album of new songs in more than 15 years. Mick Jones, the band’s founder and legendary songwriter/guitarist, produced the new album with Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith and Buckcherry). It jumped into the Billboard Top 200 in the Top 30 on its first week of release and it is the first full length album to feature Foreigner’s new, touring lineup: Mick Jones on lead guitar, singer Kelly Hansen, bassist Jeff Pilson, guitarist Tom Gimbel, keyboardist Michael Bluestein and drummer Jason Sutter.

FOREIGNER’s depth of broadcast-friendly hits ensures the band’s constant presence in the Top 15 most played artists on US Classic Rock radio. The band gets more airplay at this important format than Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Bruce Springsteen, all but a handful of current touring artists. FOREIGNERS’s live album ‘Can’t Slow Down - When It’s Live’ was released on earMUSIC November 15th 2010. Their next album is due for release this summer. Live DVD/Blu-Ray to be released in spring.

This double bill is a must – so get your tickets now and join us at the Rockhal for an unforgettable night of Classic Rock!

The Journey & Foreigner European tour is off to an AMAZING start in the UK, starting with a SOLD OUT Wembley Arena.

Here is a little foretaste from their UK gig, a first review from chroniclelive.co.uk:

“Foreigner singer Kelly Hansen is truly an inspired replacement for original singer Lou Gramm, possessing an absolutely infectious stage presence, the perfect foil for the group’s leader and guitarist, Mick Jones. Foreigner satisfied the crowd with tunes like Feels Like The First Time, Hot Blooded and Juke Box Hero hitting the mark.”

“Talking of heroes, Journey also have a new one. Their singer Arnel Pineda has clearly grown into his role over the past four years and was on a mission to win hearts and minds as he led the band through possibly the greatest back-catalogue in melodic rock. He brings along a youthful vitality and enthusiasm, a non-stop energy and a voice that is as near as is humanly possible a perfect replacement for Journey’s much-missed singer Steve Perry.”
