Friends of French rap, get ready for a major concert at the Rockhal: one of France’s most famous MCs is coming to the Club. La Fouine is in the house on 5 May to present his view of the world!

La Fouine’s life wasn’t always easy: the rapper lives in the Parisian suburb of Trappes, he’s been in jail several times. At the age of 21, he’s released from prison for the last time and decides never to go astray again. Soon he becomes a father and definitely gives up drinking and smoking. Without any school education, he decides to start to work. Two big wheels from his neighbourhood believe in him so much that they decide to produce his first maxi, “J’avance”. This first disk is a means to present La Fouine, who chose the name of his neighbourhood as stage name, to the music biz. Soon his song makes it to different samplers. In 2003, after a period of hard and persistent work, he signs a contract with Sony and with the Trappes municipal administration to become a mediator.

Ever since, La Fouine has played many concerts and tours and travelled all around the world. Thanks to “Aller-retour”, he visits lots of countries, acquires new fans, becomes famous, knows what it’s like to mingle with the crowd. With a background of three street albums, two major albums, several tours and an impressive, sold-out concert at La Cigale in March 2008, La Fouine is now working on his third album, “Mes repères”. He had lost his points of reference on “Bourré au son”, started looking for them on “Aller-retour” and finally found them on “Mes repères”!

The rapper from Trappes is also an impressive stage musician: on 20 May 2009, one of his greatest dreams came true when he played an extraordinary concert at the Olympia, just like his idol, Jacques Brel.

La Fouine: a man, a guitar, a mic and an endlessly talented genius. Real, raw music. On 5 May, La Fouine is going to turn the Rockhal Club’s stage into his universe!
