Pumping out perfect post-punk rock since 95, Les Savy Fav is a true live spectacle and they will be performing at the Club of the Rockhal on 10 July 2011. The band has gained a reputation as an amazingly wild live act and has grown into a band considered among the “godfathers” of the independent rock music scene.

Since their rise from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1996, Les Savy Fav have been building a passionate following among musicians, fans, and critics the old fashioned way: by earning it. In a world where technologies speed new music to listeners and enable young bands instant access to limitless audience, Les Savy Fav is among a rare breed of bands that built their audience city by city and fan by fan. They have maintained their independence and have built their consistently sold out shows without the support of a major label, mainstream radio or MTV.  

The band’s 2007 album, Let’s Stay Friends, was their first release to achieve extensive press reaction and found its place as one of the top albums of the year in this genre. Root For Ruin, the group’s latest release, cements Les Savy Fav as a serious post-punk but also as fun-loving, party-starting companions. The album manages both to be clearly a Les Savy Fav album while pushing the boundaries of the sound to a new level. The new record clearly states that the band still has their appetite and the music is anything but flat.  

Their music has been linked to Brainiac, The Pixies and Sonic Youth. However, Les Savy Fav, “Godfathers of the Brooklyn sound” are more likely to end up on current New York City band's inspiration lists rather than comparison lists. Les Savy Fav is one of the most genre defining, influential and naturally driven musical ensembles of the past decade. Nonetheless they don’t have to worry being left on the shelf yet! Les Savy Fay will be at the Rockhal on 10 July 2011 and are ready to gather new fans in Luxembourg.
