Review
Music legend Manfred Mann will rock the Rockhal in L-Esch-sur Alzette with new singer Robert Hart from Bad Company.
Having started in the 1960s with a British Invasion band that had such hits as "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" and "The Mighty Quinn", then moving on to Jazz Fusion with Manfred Mann's Chapter Three, Manfred's third band, "The Earth Band' is still alive and recording.
The Earth Band remains active in live performances in Europe, with a line-up that includes both Manfred Mann and Mick Rogers.
In 2009, vocalist Noel McCalla was replaced by Peter Cox previously best known for his work with Go West. Peter Cox left the band in 2011 and was replaced by Robert Hart (ex Bad Company).
„Hundred Seventy Split” is a new, exciting, high energy Blues/Rock power trio showcasing the combined talents of Joe Gooch on guitar/vocals and Leo Lyons on bass: both are current members of the band “Ten Years After” opening the evening for Manfred Mann’s Earth Band in L-Esch-sur-Alzette.
The pair initially formed a song-writing partnership to write for TYA and have continued writing together ever since.
The result is their debut CD ’The World Won’t Stop’ Hundred Seventy Split was formed to play music that rocks outside of the TYA box. Their live shows are certain to be popular with TYA fans but the band will not be playing any TYA classics in the set.
Fans who want to hear those songs will have to go and see Leo and Joe when they perform with TYA.
The show is presented by Show Production S.àr.l. and Kultopolis GmbH.
