Review

In collaboration with Les Trinitaires and with the support of Fimic Arctic Accents (Finish Information Centre), the Rockhal (through its Sonic Visions festival) offers the region of Lorraine and the city of Metz a foretaste of its agenda at Les Trinitaires.

As an occasion to meet local groups and discover showcase concerts, the Sonic Visions warm up at Les Trinitaires shares the philosophy of the festival at the Rockhal: namely a place to discover and meet in a convivial atmosphere.

The Yokel (Fr)

An astonishing and even explosive mix can be expected with influences such as Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Old Crow Medicine Show or The Doors, The Velvet Underground, Foreign Beggars and the Beastie Boys. What they offer their audience is folk music which explores new lands.

Natas Loves You (L)

Natas Loves You is the most French band from Luxembourg. Living in Paris, these 5 musicians have been hugely successful there (selling out the Bus Palladium and Maroquinerie venues). They play psychedelic bossa nova where the spirit of Gainsbourg, Grizzly Bear and even the Beatles reign supreme. The EP released in March 2011 revealed their profound creativity and new songs are eagerly awaited.

Jaakko & Jay (FIN)

They might come from the land of Santa Claus, but their concerts rather smell of beer than traditional December dishes.

These two Fins are intoxicating and sarcastic, and they fiercely celebrate life with their enthusiastic and energetic punk folk music. Jaakko & Ray's snare and guitar are known for melting even the iciest atmospheres in their path. Scandinavia idolises them, England loves them and Les Trinitaires won't resist them either.

Meeting with concert venues from the Greater Region:

6.30 pm to 8.00 pm

During the Sonic Visions Warm Up, the most important concert venues from the Greater Region will meet for an information roundtable about the issue of local band booking in the Greater Region. Which are the differences between the regions? How is it possible to facilitate artist mobility between different regions and countries? Is there advice for bands and their crews wishing to tour the Greater Region?

Many topics will be discussed during this informal discussion forum where bands and artists will have the occasion to exchange views directly with those in charge of programming.
