Founded in August 2010, "We knew John Doe" are playing an aggressive music combining the styles of Melodic Death Metal bands, such as Arch Enemy and In Flames, and Metalcore bands such as August Burns Red, Bullet for my Valentine and As I Lay Dying. Their music occasionally slips into softer genres, to build up contrasts and prevent their music from being too monotone.

They recorded a Demo CD at Heckenmonster Studios in November 2010, which was released on January 1st 2011, and are going to record their first EP at S.A. Studios in Summer 2011.
