Review

On 5 June 2011, the Rockhal’s going to host one of the greatest names of the nineties’ nu metal scene: Korn are going to play an extraordinary concert!

The band Korn was formed in California in 1994 and over the years, they’ve become an important player in the history of hard rock and metal. With their brutal riffs, funky off-beat rhythms, deafening bass sound and cathartic, screaming vocals, Korn have created their own, dark universe.

After their first, eponymous album, the band was incredibly successful. Jonathan Davis’s dark lyrics and Korn’s explosive sound laid the foundation for the band’s strong image which many young people identified with. Once unleashed, Korn released one album after another and played lots of tours in a nerve-wracking rhythm.

Although they’ve been there for years, and despite the success of songs such as “A.D.I.D.A.S”, “Blind”, and “Falling Away From Me”, the band never stopped surprising its audience by releasing songs which are at a time very melodic and innovative. They’ve experimented with bagpipes, rap, electro and pop sounds: Korn were always able to accommodate totally different universes.

With its ninth album “Korn III – Remember Who You Are”, the band has once again proven its audience that retirement is still far away. On the contrary, it was reborn! Korn offer their fans a magnificent album which establishes links between the past and the future. While going back to their roots, they maintain their will to explore unknown realms.

On the stage, Korn’s impact remains intact: they’re heavy, powerful, and Jonathan Davis’s stage presence is excellent. You’ve got to admit that Korn have invented their own sound and that seeing them on stage is always a unique moment. The album “Korn III- Remember Who You Are” bears its name with good reason. As long as their music is so powerful and they keep their stage presence, we are not ready to forget who they are!

Sunday, 5 June 2011: save this date for an unforgettable concert with Korn!
