THE RAPTURE

The New York-based dance rockers, The Rapture, are embarking for a European Tour this year and are stopping over in Luxembourg for their first time ever. Packed with their studio album “In the Grace of Your Love”, coming out in September, they will hit the stage of the Rockhal on 15 November 2011. Come on board and join us for a promising Club show.

The Rapture has been frequently hailed as a forerunner of the post-punk revival that swept through the indie underground during the early 2000s. Formed in 1998 by New Yorkers Vito Roccoforte (drums) and Luke Jenner (guitars, vocals), the band is mixing their early post-punk sound with electronic and dance elements.

With their smash hit „House of Jealous Lovers”, from their second album “Echoes”, The Rapture conquered plenty of indie dance floors all over Europe. Now, their long-awaited third album “In The Grace Of Your Love” is coming out in September and will mark the dawn of a new chapter in the bands history and a welcome return to the DFA Records family. This label has released some of their most acclaimed early singles.

Together with French producer Philippe Zdar (Phoenix, Beastie Boys, Chromeo), they have crafted and shaped a bold and euphoric album that sounds definitively yet distinctly like The Rapture. Through the course of its eleven tracks, you can immerse yourself as waves of lyrical optimism and introspection crash between angular guitars and pulsing synthesizers, pounding drums and into sweet rhythmical lullabies. Frontman Luke Jenner made the following statement: “The new album is pretty vocal-heavy but it feels like we kind of came home in a way. It’s probably a little more like the record “Echoes” with lots of diverse types of songs on it”.  

Their energetic blend of post punk combined with dance elements is sure to make you dance from the beginning to the end of their show. All fans of indie rock dance music should highlight the 15 November in their calendar!
