The melodic hard rock favourite Shinedown has quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with by releasing numerous mainstream hits. The Rockhal is delighted to welcome the multi-platinum rockers from Florida to be playing live at the Rockhal on 5 June 2012. With the release of their new album "Amaryllis", Shinedown fans will get everything they have been looking for.
With all the success Shinedown has had since vocalist Brent Smith and drummer Barry Kerch formed the band in 2001, one could understand if its members just wanted to rest on their laurels. Their third album "The Sound of Madness" was clearly a mainstream breakthrough. The band established itself as a premiere live act, opening doors to a wider audience in the process. But just because the music has reached more people does not mean Shinedown has gone soft, in fact far from it.
With bravely honest songs like the first singles "Bully" and "I'm Not All Right," their brand new record "Amaryllis" delivers on its mission statement: "It's not a record for the faint of heart," Smith admits. "Every single song makes a statement I feel in my heart and soul that this album is a game changer for our band." Amaryllis is a record about vulnerability. It reveals the bruises and scars, but also their healing. The idea was to take the listener on rollercoaster ride.
Re-teaming with "The Sound of Madness" producer Rob Cavall, who has also worked with Green Day, My Chemical Romance, and Kid Rock, the band accomplished all of its goals.
Shinedown is one of the few rock bands that can translate their music on an album to an even larger level on stage, as well as making sure their fans always come first and feeling like they are a part of this band as well. This explains the fans being known as the Shinedown Nation.
If you are a Shinedown fan, or hard rock fan in general, you will love their new album and should grab the chance to see them live on stage at the Rockhal in Luxembourg on 5 June 2012.
