Rockhal's Rocklab invites you to an evening of a special kind, in the framework of the Fête de la Musique 2017. Explore Rocklab's creative facilities in a musical way and have an exclusive peek at three local artists' ongoing work, as the rehearsals rooms and the Rockhalstudio will welcome Rome, Tuys and Bartleby Delicate for selected showcases, featuring new exciting material presented in an intimate setting. As places are very limited, prior registration is recommended.

Bartleby Delicate is a singer-songwriter based in Luxembourg. Known for being the frontman and singer of Luxembourgish band Seed to Tree, Georges Goerens started his solo project in 2017, by the name of Bartleby Delicate. Apparelled with his voice and a guitar, Bartleby ornaments his poems with delicate guitar playing and soothing melodies. In the mood of Bon Iver and The Tallest Man On Earth, Bartleby Delicate is working on a first album. During an exclusive session at Rockhal, he will already give an insight into his songwriting process and what is to be expected on the upcoming record.

Tuys are a young indie band mixing danceable earcatchers with rougher tunes bordering on a more progressive touch. After having played all the venues of their home base, they are now increasing their appearances abroad and are working on several new releases. Followed closely by Rocklab since their debuts at Screaming Fields festival, the quartet will present you with an exclusive selection of new titles on this occasion.

Luxembourgish singer-songwriter Jerome Reuter founded ROME (the name is derived from his first name) in 2005 and has since recorded and released groundbreaking albums in the underground folk and post-industrial music world at a breathtaking pace. ROME’s musical and lyrical world is genuinely unique, blending traditional songwriting craftsmanship, unusual arrangements and fine poetry into one monstrous and intimate musical output that combines chanson, dark ambient, apocalyptic folk, pop, acoustic rock, martial industrial, cold wave -- all rolled into one impressive avantgarde package. Over a series of remarkable concept albums, the Luxembourgish artist has developed a unique ‘poetry of longing’ which rings out from the dark melancholic mist of rootlessness and which gives expression to a comprehensive feeling of modern forlornness. The protagonists of his music are the unintentional ‘rebels’ of Camus, contemporaries from the turbulent epochs of the 20th century: the banished and the hunted; the despised and the misunderstood. Reuter’s songs are firmly in the tradition of chansonnier heroes like JACQUES BREL and LÉO FERRÉ, but in a strange mélange with the darker brands of (post-)industrial music culture. Rome’s lyrics are inspired by world literature from Camus to Genet and Jerome’s frequent use of collage and sampling techniques serves to create a new kind of intertextuality between word and sound. The lyrical beauty of Reuter's compositions, the depths of his poetry and the complex experimental arrangements make ROME an unusually challenging musical experience. During the Rocklab session ROME will reveal several unreleased tracks from his upcoming album.
