Lisa and Naomi Diaz are the daughters of the late Cuban percussionist Anga Diaz. Naomi plays percussive instruments, the Cajon and the Batas, while Lisa plays piano. Together the twins have learned the songs of their father's culture, Yoruba. The 19-year old signees to XL Records (think M.I.A., Adele, SBTRKT, Bobby Womack...) combine their roots in Yoruba music with a heavy modern sound that's been described as 'doom soul' with mesmerizing results. Don't sleep on this dynamic duo currently working on their self-entitled debut album that they will present us live at the Rockhal on 04 June 2015. An Ibeyi show is definitely a soulful and personal experience you shouldn't miss!
