ROCKLAB SESSIONS TO PREMIERE ON JUNE 18
Rocklab is excited to present Rocklab Sessions, showcasing and documenting the ever growing number and diversity of the local music scene. Recorded and produced in house in the intimate setting of the Rockhalstudio, the first season is set to launch on the Rocklab YouTube channel on Friday 18th of June at 8pm, followed by two weekly releases, premiering Tuesdays and Fridays at 8pm.
With this new project, the Rocklab continues to support and promote the local music scene, offering artists a digital stage, regardless of music genre, age and experience.
The first episode of Rocklab Sessions features artist and guitarist Patrick Miranda better known under the name of Pleasing. Back in 2018, his participation to Rocklab’s Screaming Fields Festival landed him a gig at De Gudde Wëllen. His sound has since developed into relatively uncharted sounds of math-rock and post-rock. With the combination of tapping riffs, atmospheric and emotional influence, his songs figuratively lead us through its very own journey, its whole significance is brought up and questions the listener’s wits.
Season One consists of 12 episodes featuring Pleasing, Heavy Petrol, Stelise, Drife, T The Boss, The Ferocious Few, Francis of Delirium, Loivos, Benoit Martiny Band, Atomic Rocket Seeders, Zero Point Five and Pineway.
Back in 2020, in response to the stay-at-home orders, the Rocklab successfully launched the Rocklab Pop-Up Sessions series, where local artists with a confirmed stage and recording experience got to perform in the most uncommon locations, usually not accessible to the general public. Since the launch of the project, 10 sessions have been released with many more to follow on a monthly basis. Yesterday's release saw singer-songwriter Bartleby Delicate perform in a special setting at neimënster. The session is available to rewatch on YouTube, Facebook, RTL Play as well as PostTV.
Both, Rocklab Sessions as well as Rocklab Pop-Up Sessions are open for applications. A selection committee, composed of local bookers, promoters and partners of the initiative, regularly selects new projects. Applications can be submitted spontaneously on www.rocklabsessions.lu
