Born in Oakland CA, Saadiq formed the group Tony! Toni! Toné! with his brother and cousin enjoying considerable success on radio and MTV with several hits including “If I Had No Loot,” “Feels Good” and the iconic “It Never Rains (In Southern California).” His solo career kicked off with his 2008 homage to Motown and Philly soul, The Way I See It, and its follow up, Stone Rollin,’ which landed on many year end Top Ten Best Albums lists. As his solo career thrived on stage, Saadiq also honed in on his craft as a producer, working with a wide range of artists, including Solange, Snoop Dogg, TLC, Kelis, Erykah Badu and Bobby Valentino. He remains an in demand musician with Justin Timberlake, Elton John, Mick Jagger, and John Legend. Among the many superstars who have tapped him to play bass or guitar on high profile projects, Lady Gaga scouted Saadiq to play at the 2016 Grammy Awards in her memorable tribute to David Bowie.
