The freshly baked alternative band 'when 'airy met fairy' will release their album 'the breach' at the Club of the Rockhal on Tuesday January 20 2015. Their support act Lata Gouveia and his guitar will take you for a country ride before you can dive into the post-intimist world of 'when 'airy met fairy'.

Complementary to their activities, workshops and follow-up programs, Music and Resources Rockhal offer the possibility to Luxembourgish bands who have a concrete musical project to organize their release-show at the Rockhal. Thus the bands can benefit from professional conditions for releasing their album and profit from the infrastructure of the Rockhal and the support of the Music and Resources Team.

While Thorunn was touring the biggest concert halls in Germany with the other top ten contestants of the third season of The Voice of Germany, she asked Jeff Herr, Julian Lang and Johannes Still to record with her the songs that she had started writing a year earlier. It didn't take long before the four found themselves in the studio recording their first album under the band name 'when 'airy met fairy' (with the enchanting guest appearance of cellist Angela Simmons on the track 'bus').

The result is 'the breach': twelve beautiful songs written by Thorunn, arranged by the band, recorded and mastered by Jürgen Schulz and produced by Thorunn and her sister Runa Egilsdottir. The lyrics are profound; every word is carefully chosen - many of the songs are undulating, others are refreshingly upbeat. The sound of when 'airy met fairy is colored by humming backing vocals and unpretentious instruments such as the melodica or the mini piano.
