YOUNG KATO TO SUPPORT AWOLNATION
Young Kato is a euphoric blend of surging, fuzzy guitars, irresistible pop hooks and all-in-it-together chants.
They recorded their debut EP with Gordon Mills JNR (son of the former manager of both Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck, a fact they love the eccentricity of) in a shed in Guildford in roughly 4 days.
Live they have an impressive bite of course, one that's hardening up with every show, but the band are refreshingly dismissive of having a 'dark side', knowing that there's plenty of room for that a few albums down the road.
They finalized their debut album recordings at London's Strongroom and Miloko studios with producer Grech-Margeurat at the helm, played a sold-our headline tour of the UK late last year, some incredible support shows at the UK's biggest venues and are about to support chart toppers You Me At Six on their massive UK tour as well as playing their biggest headline show to date. Their twists of fortune have afforded them the chance to get it right, and spend as much time as they can honing the live show on the road.
If the British indie scene really is on the cusp of a brave new world, Young Kato could just be among its founding fathers.
