After a two-and-a-half-year break from the stage, Emily Loizeau returns with a new show featuring songs from her new album “Mothers & Tygers” which is due for this fall. Emily's upcoming tour will bring her to the Rockhal on 25 January 2013. The singer/pianist will tell us tales about her trips around the world, her state of mind and her perception of concerts, with arms wide open and a unique voice.

Emily Loizeau's acoustic universe mixes French and Anglo-Saxon influences. It's an urban yet ancestral style of melancholia, something between Paris and London, where the lights of the night give you the blues. There is some folk in it, but also some of the old Parisian sound.

After having taken us to the end of the world ("L’autre bout du monde") in 2006 and on a tour of her wild country ("Pays Sauvage"), Emily Loizeau now presents her third album. It’s another opportunity for the 2009 winner of the Prix Constantin to take us on a discovery journey through her universe. On her new record, she presents melodies and lyrics full of poetry with great ease. Once more, she is being accompanied by her loyal stage band and fellow composers. With, among others, Cyril Avèque (drums) and Olivier Koundouno (cello), they experiment with atypical sounds and recording conditions which will make the record sound even more inventive. Her stage show benefits from a veritable stage production including light design, video elements and intimate moments.

“Vole le chagrin des oiseaux” is the first singles from Emily Loizeau's new album “Mothers & Tygers” which is due for 10 September. Some months ago, Emily saw a report her sister made about the violence in Syria. The song was written after that. Its lyrics are poignant and the melody is touching and captivating.

As a rising star adding some cosmopolitanism to folk-inspired French chanson, Emily Loizeau will present her repertoire on the Rockhal's stage on 25 January 2013. Don't hesitate to discover this atypical universe!
